SPECIAL
THANKS—SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Thanks to the generous support of its members, as well as proceeds from
the annual Euro-American Car Show, the Club was able to award 4
scholarships to deserving students enrolled in the German language program
in our 3 local Hamilton High Schools. Liz Tindall, Scholarship Chair, and
Christa Pullion, Vice Chair, attended all three high school awards nights
to present these scholarships on behalf of the Donauschwaben Verein.
Scholarships recipients were as follows:
Hamilton
High School West |
Luise
Martini and Kelly Kleinmann |
Steinert
High School |
Kevin
Hom |
Nottingham
High School |
Andrew
Palmer |
All students are going on to 4-year colleges with majors such as
engineering, biology and pre-med, while continuing their German studies.
These students have GPA's of over 4.0, are actively involved in their
school and extracurricular activities, and also find the time to volunteer
many hours to their community. Our future is in good hands!
Congratulations to all!
FIRST
PUBLIC ADULT DANCE GROUP PERFORMANCE
Our newly formed adult dance group is hard at work (dance) creating new
routines for future performances, including for the Landestreffen in
August at the United German-Hungarians. Those that attended the July Pig
roast had the privilege to see their first public performance and in full
dress also. We really enjoyed the group‘s performance. You can witness
the fun they are having during each Wednesday night‘s practice session.
They performed for the first time in public at our July 18th Pig Roast.
Those in attendance enjoyed the great performance. Our hats go off to the
group for their great performance in the 94 degree heat. Great Job!
