This spring the Kindergruppe hosted an Easter Egg Hunt. Thank
you to everyone who stuffed eggs, especially Ann Szymanski and her
father. There were hundreds of them! The weather was not very
cooperative, so we were forced to hide the eggs in the hall. That
practice was a little difficult, since the kids all knew they were
going on a hunt after we were done! Within minutes, all the eggs were
found and then everyone enjoyed all their treats, stickers and other
surprises in their eggs.
What a dilemma we have had in the Kindergruppe, too many boys!
Who would have thought that? Normally the group is always short boys
and a girl ends up dancing the boy’s part. We have more boys than
girls, so boys learned a dance involving poles and Schuhplattler, just
the boys, no girls. Their big debut was at the Bavarian Festival in
Frankenmuth. It was a great crowd pleaser. Everyone loved it. The
encore performance was a success at the Father’s Day picnic. The
Kinderplatz kept everyone busy, working or playing the games. Thank
you to everyone who volunteered their time to make it so successful.
We were busy practicing for our trip to Philadelphia for the
Landestreffen in August, as well as all the upcoming Oktoberfests in
the Fall. We are always looking for new dancers to join the group. We
practice Sunday evenings. Come on by we would love to show you all our
dances. Grandparents, bring your grandchildren. The kids love to
perform for their Oma and Opa.
