Deutschmeister
Brass Band
Forwarded
From German Cultural Society, St. Louis
Last year the band performed five times for the Verein and had nine
public performances. We also crashed a wedding reception. About 10
members of the band dropped in on Nick Baur’s wedding reception and
played a few tunes for the crowd. Nick was surprised and joined in for
a couple of tunes.
The band held its
annual meeting on January 19th and elected these officers for
the coming year: |

Holding office for the first time is Becky Fischer. She joined the
band in 2009 after being recruited by Mary Weber. Becky has played the
clarinet since the 5th grade. She was in the St. Louis University Pep
band and currently plays with the Troy Community Band in addition to
the Deutschmeister. Considering the average age of members of
the Deutschmeister, at 28, she is one of the kids in the band. In real
life she is a quality engineer at Stroco Manufacturing in Hazelwood.
When she completes her training she will be the second FAA
certificated pilot in the band.
