Private burial for Thelma B. Thornton of Paradise will be
conducted at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Grass
Valley.
Mrs. Thornton died Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at home. She was
90.
She was born Nov. 17, 1915, in Donana, N.M., to John and
Gracie (Gray) Busick. She married Doss Thornton on July 10,
1941, in Reno, Nev. She worked as a cannery forewoman. She
enjoyed gardening and reading.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dossue
Thornton-Kempton and Lee Kempton; brother and sister-in-law,
John and Sue Busick; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Jill
and James Stafford; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Jeff
and Lorie Flood; and grandchildren Jackson and Lily
Stafford, and Jacob and Jatelyn Flood. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Doss Thornton on July 30, 2005.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Christian
Church in Paradise.

I saw that this was taken (or processed) at
Leiter Camera Shop in San Jose. Looked it up and not
surprisingly, there is no more Leiter Camera. BUT, there is a
Leiter's Pharmacy. It would be interesting to find out if there
is a connection.
That photo would have probably been taken in the
early '40's I believe? What's really interesting to me about
this photo (other than seeing her young of course), is that I
can see that same look in her eyes as when she was older. A
little bit of sadness or pain, even though she's smiling. |
