Mrs.
Olza Bernhardt, age 73, died suddenly on
December 12, 2010, of a heart attack. It
came as quite a shock to everyone. When
the news came everyone thought it
was her husband since he has been sickly
for several years or Oma Bernhardt
since she is 96. Olza helped with the
cooking when the Jugendgruppe first started
with their brunches. She comes from
a large extended family of six and many
nephews and nieces.
Her wake and service was at Lawrence
Funeral Home with burial at St. Luke
Cemetery. She is survived by her husband
Albert, children Heidi and Erich,
two grandchildren, her mother-in-law,
sister and brother in laws, and many
other relatives. The American Aid Society
expresses our sincere sympathy to
whole family. May God grant her eternal
reward!

Mr. Frank Hehn passed away on December
27, 2010, after having had a stroke
several weeks before. He never recovered
and slowly went down until his passing.
Mr. Hehn was 88 years old. He was
born in Slatinic and came to Chicago in
the mid 50's. For many years he had his
own upholstery business. After passing
the business to his son, he moved to
Arkansas where he stayed for 12 years. He
moved back and settled in Sun City
Huntley.
During all these years, he was a
very active member and worker in our
organization. He helped with the building
of our hall in Lake Villa, in making sausage
and he was official Gulasch stirrer
at our picnics and Schlachtfest. His wake
and church service was in Huntley followed
by cremation. Frank is survived by his
wife, two children, five grandchildren,
a brother and a sister and many relatives.
Our sympathy goes to the entire family
and relatives. May he rest in eternal
peace!
He was born November 3, 1922 in
Yugoslavia, the son of Peter and
Elizabeth (Kutanzi) Hehn. He was
united in marriage to Katharina J.
Jaeger on May 10, 1950 in Germany.
In 1958 the couple moved to the United
States. Frank was a very hard
worker, a skilled craftsman and was able
to experience the opportunity of being
in business for himself in the
upholstery field, retiring in
1984. He was especially proud of
his family and enjoyed the time spent
with his children and
grandchildren. Frank enjoyed
traveling, especially to Florida,
boating, fishing, was a Bocce Ball
Champion and an avid card player, always
expecting the best from his partner not
being particularly fond of losing.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic
Church in Huntley.
