PASSING
OF MARTIN KLEER
Marty Kleer was well known in our
Donauschwaben community and also held a
membership card for many years, even
after moving to Florida in 1983. We all
remember him, his wife, Anna Mae, and
his daughter Joann. They would come back
every year to Trenton for a visit in
their mobile home. They parked it in one
of their friend’s yard, but often in
the club's parking lot, and visited the
German clubs of Trenton and many of
their friends. Often you could see them
working at our club's bakery stand at
the German American Heritage Day in
Holmdale, NJ.
We will miss Marty, a native son of
Trenton, New Jersey, with roots in Bukin
and Palanka, Batschka.
His unique loyalty to friends, the
German clubs and his place of birth was
outstanding, it was the reason for the
many tracks north that he and his family
took.
May
God grant him his well deserved rest and
reward him with a happy after life.
So long Marty, we will miss you and we
keep you in our prayers. Our deepest
sympathy to his family.

Dinners got a little
brighter in Heaven yesterday when George
came home after 78 years. His homemade
sausage, jokes, and laughter are as big a
hit now as when he shared them with us.
Born in Plavna,
Yugoslavia, George lived the American dream
since arriving from Austria in 1951.
Fifty-six years ago he met and married the
love of his life, Anna, who misses him more
than anyone could imagine. He made a million
and lost a million. He bought property and
sold it. He sent his boys to college and
taught them to be men. Not bad for a meat
cutter with a fifth grade education.
Those he leaves
for now, wife, Anna; sons, Frank (Judy) and
Robert (Margie); grandchildren, Renee and
Will; nephew, George; niece, Irene; and
cousin, Rudi (Anni) will miss his wit and
stories. So, remember George when you buy a
penny stock or share a laugh with friends. |

Nikolaus Stein died
peacefully on September
27. Mr. Stein was born in St.
Hubert, Banat, in 1933. He came to America
in the 1950's. Nick has been suffering
with Alzheimer for several years.
His wife Maria
died last year and he
was taken care of by his daughter Kathy.
It
was not an easy job taking care
of someone with that disease. We have missed both Maria and Nick
since they
were always very helpful with the work
in Lake Villa.
The funeral service was held only for the family. Nick
leaves behind
his children, grandchildren, and many friends. Our deepest

On October 8, one of our
very long American Aid Society members passed away. She was Mrs.
Theresia Baumann. a member since 1959. Mrs. Baumann came to all
our meetings and festivities as long as she was able. It was 5
years ago that she was diagnosed with cancer. She fought bravely
but eventually the disease was too much. Unable to do her work,
she entered the Sun Rise elderly care center. The last 2 years,
she not only had cancer but also very bad dementia. Finally her
mind and body gave out in her 89th year. Mrs. Baumann was born in
Hungary and came to America where she raised
her
3 sons. We extend our deepest sympathy to her sons and their
families. May her soul find peace and comfort forever! |

The
American Aid Society wants to comfort the surviving family
members.
