Evelyn Vera Edens was born in Lexington, Texas, on June 29,
1921, the daughter of Anna Frieda (Mackel) and Ira Lee
Thornton. She passed away in Red Oak, Texas, on Wednesday,
March 30, 2011, at age 89. Vera is predeceased by her husband,
Trice Edens in 2004; her parents; and sisters, Enola Brooks
and Eunice Gabbert. She is survived by her sons, Jerry Edens
and wife Mindy and Joe Edens and wife Margaret; grandchildren,
Tommy Edens and wife Lori, Jimmy Edens and wife Marty, Evelyn
O'Dell and husband John, and Jason Edens and wife Ashley;
great-grandchildren, Jordi, Rylee, and Addy; sister, Lee King;
and brother, Charles Thornton. Funeral services are 10:30 am,
Monday, April 4, 2011 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel with Pastor
Duane Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Restland
Memorial Park in Dallas. Visitation with the family is 4-6 pm,
Sunday, at the funeral home. |
