One of our long-standing and hardworking volunteer has left us. Maria Stein passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2009. She died of a heart attack. Maria had problems for the last few years with bad arthritis and cancer. Maria was born in Ruma, came to Chicago in the fifties, married here and had four children. The wake and church service were private, only for family members. She was buried in St. Joseph Cemetery. Maria is survived by her husband Nick, four children, and grandchildren. We will all miss her at work in Lake Villa, Our deepest sympathy goes out to her Husband and all the family members.

Stefan Zimmer, a “true-green”
Green-White member, passed away
today. He will always be
remembered as a great player,
coach, general manager, and
friend. We can also never forget
his wonderful meat and sausage at
all the Schlachtfests and
“Steve’s famous burgers” and
Hungarians at all the tournaments.
At our 45th anniversary, he was
elected “Mr. Green-White” –
a title he earned and proudly
held.
